Assignment: How can a positive
work environment help you? And in which way can a negative one be of help? Note
your observations and bring to class for discussion.
The following points are noted
after a round of discussion:
A Positive Work Environment
- helps in increasing efficiency
and reduces unproductive time loss,
- helps in reducing the amount of
overtime,
- helps in returning home before
the rush hour traffic,
- helps in having some friends
outside Facebook,
- helps in getting un-usurped
promotions and
- helps in maintaining a calm and
peaceful life.
A Negative Work Environment
- helps in building an aggressive
mindset suitable for reaching the top by creating deadly competition,
- helps in transferring of blame
by providing a pool of regularly underperforming colleagues,
- helps in hiding personal
mistakes by creating an atmosphere of perpetual distrust and suspicion,
- helps in creating the dark aura
of a person tiding through soulless corporate life,
- helps in turning boys into men
and girls into bosses and
- helps in keeping people with no
social life engaged, engrossed and occupied beyond working hours and on
weekends.
