From a student’s class notes (Social Media Usage, Paper III – Basic Writing Skills)

The following can be omitted from English (**only in internet)

Dictionary spelling -- use short forms when in doubt

Punctuations -- three dots “…” can be used widely as alternative

Affirmative and negative sentences  -- use smiley

Interjections (like wow, omg etc) --  use smiley

Sarcasm (smart jokes) --  people reading such posts will not get it anyway

Long descriptions -- mix with Hindi or mother tongue / try to avoid if possible

Giving opinions -- copy paste / try to avoid if possible
