Case Study Session (Social
Media Usage)
The participants were asked to identify the smartest, coolest and most
radiant persons or couples from their Facebook friend list.
Then they were
asked to jot down what these people do that they themselves do not or can not.
Following is a compiled list of all observations. Teacher’s comments are
added in certain cases.
1) They meet their old friends regularly.
2) Most of their photos are group photos. – This shows their popularity and acceptance value.
3) Most of their group photos are with people of similar age. – With friends, not family.
4) They look good.
5) The couple glows. – The couple
is very ‘photogenic’.
6) Most of their friends are from modelling or acting. – A man is known by the company he keeps.
7) They do not stay in hotels in their vacations, they stay in resorts. –
Or homestay.
8) Their photos have many comments. –
This happens because of the large number of group photos. The more people in
it, the more people comment.
9) They wear trendy clothes.
10) They look fit and healthy. Even in a restaurant with a plate of
biryani. – But it is not known how much
of that biryani they consume or how much they work out.
11) Their work profiles look very promising. – All the good names are there, the lesser ones are not mentioned.
12) They have super cute childhood photos.
13) They look extremely good in traditional attire.
14) They often eat salads at home. – Not
the ones with round slices of cucumber, tomato and onion.
15) The have foreigner friends. – “International
contacts”.
16) They have tattoos.
17) They go on vacation when we work.
18) They wear leather jackets in summer and shorts in winter. – India is a large country with different
weather patterns.
19) They do not get tanned and look like tar balls after a vacation on
sea. – Sunscreen.
20) They have extremely talented photographer friends to take their
pictures.
21) They go abroad.
22) They chill in lounge bars after work while I wait for the metro.
23) They always share witty posts. – Shared
things are meant to be shared forward.
24) They love cats and dogs.
